Happy New Year
Friday 6th January 2012
May I be the 5000th person to wish you all a very happy, healthy and successful New Year. Lots of positive stuff happened during 2011 with the sector seemingly in 'rude health'; more of the same, please, would be agreeable.
I trust that everyone had a decent Christmas break and is suitably well rested. My Christmas day was predictably dramatic. First, my 7 year-old took to his new Xbox 360 with FIFA ‘12 a little too literally, when, out of frustration that Messi had scored his 5th goal against Brighton and Hove Albion, he 'kicked out' resulting in a console that no longer worked. My mother-in-law then fell in the kitchen and cut her head open followed by 'The Current Mrs Jupp' dropping the Christmas turkey on the floor. Need I say more?
Rumour has it that there were some nice, chunky deals that completed just before the break so well done to those involved. One of the biggest was reportedly done by a 'North London' competitor; it is good to see something 'big' coming out of that stable at long last. Well done to Kit Thompson at my place for completing on Shawbrook Bank's biggest completion thus far at just under £2 million. (I don't own a big dog by the way!)
At the time of writing I, like many of our community, am on a diet so expect me to be ruder, more irritable and less tolerant for a few days (the time these fads normally last!) In fact, I could grow a 'thing on my face' and then I would indeed be Mo Mulki...
The “peace to all mankind” season has come to an end so game on, everyone. I look forward to the battles and may the experiences we share as a result make us all stronger.
